Movie/TV Show Recommendations

If you are looking for something to watch, this is the place for you!

Throughout quarantine, many of us have found ourselves out of things to do. For me, one of the things I never get tired of is watching new movies, or rewatching old ones that I haven’t seen in a while. However, the problem is, I often don’t really know what to watch! If you are like me and are in need of ideas, from virtually binge watching with friends to having a movie night with your family, to simply leaving Netflix on in the background while you draw or (let’s be honest, we all do this) look through your phone, scroll down for suggestions coming from other ASM students!

Thank you to everyone who submitted an answer in the Movie Recommendation poll that was sent out this week :)

Movies are in pink and TV Shows are in blue:

(Just check the age rating of these before watching, as some of them may be inappropriate for certain ages)

I hope that helps! I definitely have more things to watch now, and I hope you do too! For anyone looking to watch a movie with friends from afar, always remember that you can use the TeleParty (our beloved formerly Netflix Party) Google Chrome Extension, or share your screen on a Google Meet, Zoom or Discord!

And… Here Are Some End of the Year Movie Traditions!

Although this year has been a crazy one, there is nothing stopping us from carrying on with traditions we may have with our family and friends! When asked about what their traditions are, many ASM students replied with different cozy snacks, like hot chocolate and popcorn, and “Christmas Movies!” The most popular ones are Home Alone (same), The Grinch, The Polar Express, ELF and even Die Hard! Many families also watch marathons of their favourite movies (Like The Star Wars Saga or the Back To The Future Trilogy)!

It is so awesome to look at everyone’s different traditions! With a lot of us spending winter break differently this year, specifically away from Family or not in our home countries, traditions are what keeps us connected no matter where we are. And, hey, we could always learn from each other and make some new ones while we’re at it!

Have Fun!
