Top 6 Places to Visit in Milan

Are you a new student? Do you wish to see Milan in all of its beauty? Would you like to visit any incredible spots in Milan? Here is a list of all the great spots in Milan that you can visit!

Villa Invernizzi

In the heart of Milan, in the middle between Corso Venezia and Via Pantano, you can admire one of the most loved animals on planet earth… flamingos! As absurd as it can sound Villa Invernizzi hosts a flock of flamingos. Unfortunately, Villa Invernizzi cannot be visited inside, but you may admire the flamingos through the railings that divide these beautiful creatures from Milan.

Porta Romana

The start of the center of Milan initiates through the various ‘doors’ of Milan. No, I am not talking about real wooden doors but about huge arched gates that signal the start of Zone 1 (historic center of Milan). One of the most famous and intact doors is called ‘Porta Romana’ because it is said that it comes from actual Roman Walls made hundreds of years ago!

Arco Della Pace

The Arco Della Pace in English means ‘the arch of peace’. It is called like this to show the peace made between various European nations after the Vienna Congress in 1815. It is one of the most important historic places in Milan and is surely one of the most beautiful ones too. It is also found right after Parco Sempione, the biggest city center park in Milan, so after a walk, you can admire this great monument.

Bosco Verticale

Near Porta Garibaldi, we can find the Bosco Verticale, which in English means ‘the vertical forest’. They are big apartment buildings, which have 26 floors, that people live in, and from them, you can see all of Milan. Bosco Verticale has been recognized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat as ‘the most beautiful and innovative skyscraper in the world.’

Giardini Di Porta Venezia

In the Giardini di Porta Venezia, you will be submerged in the green and surrounded by fountains and various monuments. The park was idealized by Indro Montanelli and it is also the oldest park in Milan. This is also the perfect spot to sunbay on a late Saturday morning while sipping a hot cup of coffee.

Navigli

Did you know Milan has its own tiny river near the city center? It’s called the Darsena/Navigli and every Christmas Eve people usually set an ice rink near it. Not only is it fun to hang out there in the winter, but in the summer the Darsena is known for its yummy street food.

So what do you think? Are you ready for your adventure in the city where history and innovation collide? These places are accessible even in the Covid-19 Pandemic!

Have fun!
