The Perfect Cake

Hello everybody!

Today, I will be sharing with you a cake my mother taught me, and that I think is simply delicious. The reason why I call it the “perfect” cake, is because it’s very easy to eat, put with other foods, decorate, and make fancy. In Italian, it’s called “La Torta dei Sette Vasetti”, which means that seven cups are used, overall. Let’s dive right into the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of yogurt (white)

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 3 cups of flour

  • 1 cup of oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • Orange zest, chocolate chips, frosting (depending on your taste)

Procedure

  1. Firstly, take the cup of yogurt (the plastic one in which the yogurt is already placed) and place all of its contents into a big bowl. Remember, this must be white yogurt for the cake to be neutral. However, if you want to give it a more “fruity” taste, you could always try using yogurt that tastes like fruit!

  2. Take the plastic cup in which the yogurt was, and use it as a measuring cup. Pour two “cups” of sugar into the bowl with the yogurt. The sugar must be white and granulated.

  3. Next, mix the yogurt and the sugar together, until you get a mixture with a creamy texture.

  4. After you get the right consistency, add the two eggs into the bowl, one at a time. I recommend adding one, then mixing it in, then adding the next one. I know it looks tasty, but remember there’s raw egg in it, so I strongly recommend not eating it ! :)

  5. The flour can then be added to the mixture. Measure three “cups” of flour and add them in, one at a time. Then, add the baking soda. If the mixture isn’t creamy at the beginning and has a lot of lumps, try using a whisk. It always helps me!

  6. Lastly, add one “cup” of rice oil.

  7. If you wish, you could also add some chocolate chips of some orange zest. Be creative to make your cake tasty!

  8. Place it in a cooking pan and bake it at 180 degrees, static oven, for at least 35 minutes. When the indicated time is over, place a fork in it. If it comes out clean, then the cake is ready. If it’s a bit moist, then try cooking it for another 10 or 15 minutes, until it is ready.

  9. After it’s cooled, try adding some frosting to spice things up!

Have fun enjoying your cake!
